The next RUST update is expected: Thursday, March 2, at 22:00 Moscow time!

And what awaits us: "Drones, PTZ cameras and much more!"

Radio controlled drone
After appearing on the AUX branch last week, new RC drones and functional manual turrets are making their way to the main branch of the game. In case you missed it, RC drones can be crafted and then controlled via computer terminals for reconnaissance. Likewise, turrets can now be controlled and even fired via computer terminals.

In preparation for next week's launch, the team has been fine-tuning various aspects such as range (currently 250m), deployment and placement, variables, and the like.

PTZ camera
Another option for keeping an eye on your surroundings will be a PTZ camera, short for Point Tilt Zoom, that can be deployed on ceilings or roofs (not walls or floors). Once powered, you can set an ID for this camera (like drones) and then use a computer terminal to connect to it. Use the mouse to look around and left-click to zoom in (there are 4 zoom levels). Anyone looking at the camera from the outside will be able to see it turn and move.

In theory, it should appear in this update.
The crafting of the camera and drone is shown in our post on the last screenshot!

⚔Weapon racks
There's been a flurry of commits this week around the upcoming weapon racks. While it hasn't been merged for testing yet, it looks like weapon racks will be deployable objects that will display weapons. Beyond just showing off the weapon, it looks like you'll be able to quickly equip the weapon you want just by looking at it. There's also the promise of the ability to auto-lock your weapon to the rack if you drop it right in front of it!

There is no information about when exactly they will appear. But it is definitely clear that from the prototype of the hacker week this stand interested the developers and they are actively implementing it into life.

Gameplay metrics - long live STATISTICS!
A new branch dedicated to metrics tracking is in the works. Gameplay Metrics is a new way for servers and Facepunch to track general player and gameplay metrics such as blueprints, repairs, purchases, food consumption, and more.

There's no word on when or how exactly these features will be implemented, but ideally they could be used to balance and optimize gameplay over time.

♻Miscellaneous fixes
There are a bunch of other fixes in the "Miscellaneous" category in the game. Here's a quick rundown:
Various fixes in poker
Fixed incorrect boom sound effect for stone triangle floor frame + ramp.
Fixed an issue where deploying small and large signs would not work on all walls.
Fixed an issue where the repair indicator would not appear when hitting a damaged item if the player did not have the appropriate repair items in their inventory.

Other:
More work on the "Combat" helicopter (now with missiles!)
Work on the nuclear missile silo
Fixes for the underground train entrance stairs not connecting to the metro line.
More zipline landing fixes
Removed map name from sdwearched when using server browser, previously the name was still displayed
Automatically select text field when opening RC ID dialog
Reworked storage adapter deploys volumes to prevent placement when the storage adapter bumps into something solid. This would typically result in inaccessible sockets due to pipe width checking.
Fixed an issue where crates located underneath workbenches could not be picked up because they had a storage adapter on them that could not be removed.
