What awaits us on June 1:
"Emoticons in chats and much more"
Emoticons for chat
On the Aux2 test branch, we first got acquainted with the new system of emoticons in the chat. They began to be developed during the "hacker week", the developers thought that the absence of emoticons in the chat is like the absence of shoes on your feet, the game is not complete without them. Emoticons will not just be static, they are made animated. At present, there are 23 of them, differing in expressiveness and usefulness.
This new set of features also includes the ability to use any in-game item icon in chat. To do this, simply type a colon (:) and then start typing the name of any item to see the options displayed in the autocomplete window.
They will most likely be released on the main branch of the game in July!
What are they doing with the new "shipping container" skin for houses?
In preparation for its launch next week, the newest building skin, the Shipping Container, is getting some tweaks and changes. Specifically, upgrading a block to a container skin will now automatically use the last color the user selected on the spray can. However, if the user has never selected a color on the spray can in that session, it will select a random color to paint. Additionally, the random color option has been removed from the spray can.
It looks like some further changes may be on the way (still in a separate branch), including interior wall colors and default interior wall texture settings. Keep an eye out for images once they're merged into the main game branch.
The new skin will become available for purchase on June 1st with the update and Global Wipe as part of the new DLC (just like the Adobe skin).
We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
Map marker changes
There are a number of different fixes and improvements to the newly added map markers. Here's a quick rundown of the changes:
Added a list of markers on the top left (click to focus, can be removed from this list too)
New map markers will now use a previously unused color.
Fixed markers from the previous server briefly appearing on the map when connecting to a different server in the same session.
Fixed the ability to add markers too close to other markers, especially when the cursor was over another marker.
☢Cleaning timer improvements
With the launch of RT: Nuclear Missile Silo and the subsequent post-wipe activities (harsh, Bradley roaming the area, flying F15s, etc.), the devs are tweaking the settings for server owners to set their own wipe timers. It has now been reworked to use the "Cronos library" which makes things like timezone easier to work with. In doing so, they've added a new variable to specify the timezone for wipe calculations (default is Europe/London). They've also added a variable to specify a custom cron expression to use for scheduling wipes (wipeCronOverride). Finally, they've added a "PrintWipe" command to print out information for testing configs.
These changes are expected to go into effect next week along with an update and forced cleanup.
✅Other:
The default value for the maximum number of sleeping bags has been changed from 10 to 15.
Initial work on the steerable tug
Added an invisible collider block under the rocket to prevent loot from falling and becoming unavailable.
Several fixes for Skull Trophies not respecting Streamer Mode.
Work continues on the AI testing arena
Added a slightly increased radius prohibiting construction around the Rocket Silo RT.
Improvements to the key binding system to accommodate more options.
More work at the ferry terminal
Working on the horse's idle animation
