Underground tunnels are now available for testing – first look!
Players have a completely new method of movement with tunnels and trains. They are located deep underground and can be accessed through ramps located near many monuments.
Once you go down the deep stairs (or via the elevator, if possible), you'll have to go through a couple of corridors where you'll meet NPCs wandering around in gas masks and overalls. They're armed with Berettas and M39s, and they drop some pretty good loot - microchips, pipes, and even explosive rounds with some chance. There's another short descent at the end.
After your first encounter with new opponents, you will finally find yourself at one of the underground stations. After a short walk around it, you will most likely find a small train that needs to be refueled, after which it will become available for use.
We get into the cabin, give full speed ahead and enjoy the ride. At this time, you can get out of the cabin and walk on a small platform while you wait for the arrival at the desired station. Let me remind you that each station is tied to a specific monument and the full metro scheme is visible on the map.
However, on some tracks there may be NPC ambushes with barricades - sooner or later you will encounter one of them, and you will have to shoot back at the opponents. Barricades are very likely to stop your train and you will not be able to just slip through. In such places you can also find boxes with loot.
The train can be damaged if you shoot at it or run into barricades - so it is advisable to take some metal fragments with you so that you can repair the train in a safe place and move on.
The update comes out on March 4th.
