Rust: September Update (September 4, 2025) - What's New?

What comes with this patch?

The September update is like a holiday basket for a Rust house: DLC content, user experience improvements, and a lot of cosmetics and technical fixes.

1. DLC Lighting & Decor — light, style and comfort

Added new decorative and functional items for base decoration:

  • Clothing mannequins with animation, like a mini-shop in your database;
  • soft leather and fabric poufs for lazy chill-out zones;
  • garlands, lamps, chandeliers, table lamps - convenient and stylish lighting;
  • spotlights and tripod lights that can be directed with a hammer;
  • wall cabinet with backlight and power supply - cool and useful.

The perfect way to make your home cozy and photogenic.

2. Combat atmosphere: extended firing range

Now the sound of gunshots can be heard further:

  • conventional weapons - up to 400 m,
  • heavy: HMLMG, M249, Minigun - up to 600 m,
  • LR and AK - about 500 m,
  • L96 and Bolty - up to 700 m.

It won't be possible to quietly hide behind the nearest rock - the shots will be heard from afar.

3. Deep sea and islands

New deep-sea zones and remote islands have appeared on the map, as well as radiation boundaries - this is preparation for the upcoming Naval update.

4. QoL and convenience

Some nice goodies for UI and interaction:

  • name tags on bags - now it's easier to find and distinguish your own;
  • a new way to regulate the amount of water ejected into containers;
  • the torch now gives warmth and dries the character after rain;
  • custom sights - you can change the shape, size and color directly in the menu.

5. Fixes and minor improvements

The list of bug fixes is extensive: door fixes, weapon glitches, visual glitches in the inventory, turret issues, memory leaks and much more.

Summary

The September update brings coziness to the base, new gameplay nuances, and serious fixes. If you want to decorate your home or hear shooting from the other side of the map, it's time to update!
