Rust — November 2025 Update (Naval) + Warhammer 40,000 DLC: What's New and Where to Play

Updated: October 2025. We expect the main patch to be released in November 2025; the test is already available on the stage branch.

Rust's Naval Update: Deep Sea, Modular Boats, and Floating Cities
Naval: deep sea, modular boats, new zones and water activities.

Briefly about the main thing

  • Key elements of Naval are already available on the stage branch: modular boats, deep sea, floating cities, ghost ships, and scientist patrol boats.
  • Changes are being made to air transport and interaction with flares.
  • The Warhammer 40,000 DLC is getting ready for release, bringing new cosmetics and items. For more details and an analysis, check out our article: Rust × Warhammer 40,000 – What's in the New DLC .
Modular boats in Rust: hull assembly, power module, deck elements
Modular boats: we assemble a configuration for farming, raiding, or deep-sea expeditions.

Main features

  • Modular boats : hull + power module + deck elements, combat configuration is possible.
  • Deep Sea : A new zone beyond the familiar map with increased risks and rewards.
  • Floating Cities : Compact clusters of interest on the water, vendors/content depend on the build.
  • Ghost ships : events and rare loot, threat variability.
  • Scientists' Patrol Boats : Active AI patrols, dynamic combat on the water.
Component What is this Practical benefits Status on stage
Modular boats Water transport constructor from sections Adaptation for farming, PVP, and long-range raids Available
Deep Sea Zone beyond the edge of the map, increased risks Rare events, unique loot Available
Floating cities Clusters of POIs on water Loot routes, encounters, risk/reward Partially
Ghost ships Events at sea Rare loot, PVE/PVP scenes Test
Scientists' patrol boats AI activity on water Living Sea, challenges for farm routes Available
Note: The feature set on the stage branch is subject to change. In individual builds, some content may be disabled or replaced with placeholders.

Air transport balance and flares

Aircraft Balance: Minicopter, Clan Helicopter, Attack Helicopter
Adjustments to flair and crew capabilities impact the aerial combat meta.

The testing phase includes adjustments to the interaction between aircraft, flares, and MANPADS. Below is a summary of what is already being discussed and finalized at the stage.

Technique Change What does it affect? Comment
Minicopter Slot/mechanics for flairs Countermeasure against homing missiles Open Skies Survival Balance
Clan helicopter Flare support Protection on routes to raids Fewer one-shot situations
Attack helicopter Restrictions on passenger manual throwing of flairs Reducing abuse by the crew Pilot/Defense Systems Role Rebalance
Balloon Engine shutdown to reset the grip Tactical countermeasure against missiles Delay in activation after stopping

The bottom line for the meta: Flares remain an important countermeasure, but their use is becoming more meaningful and less prone to abuse. Piloting and timing are becoming increasingly important.

Warhammer 40,000: Death Korps of Krieg DLC – What's Included

Rust x Warhammer 40,000: Death Korps of Krieg Skins and Items
Warhammer 40,000 DLC: stylized equipment and storage for the Death Korps of Krieg.

A cosmetic pack based on the Warhammer 40,000 universe is expected to arrive separately from the game patch. We've covered its contents and features in detail here: Rust × Warhammer 40,000 – What's in the New DLC .

Element Description Type
Krieg protective suit The appearance of a typical hazmat with a gas mask and overcoat Skin
Krieg's Backpack Death Korps-themed field backpack Skin/Item
Krieg's Chainsword A chainsaw skin with brutal visuals Tool skin
Krieg's Shotgun Warhammer 40,000-themed firearm skin Weapon skin
Krieg storage containers Two Krieg style storage barrels Skin for storage

This set is designed for fans of the universe and those who want to stand out online with a recognizable visual style. It pairs well with dark bases, industrial, and militaristic builds.

How to test Naval on stage

  1. Switch to the Staging branch on Steam for Rust.
  2. Log in to a test server or single session.
  3. For deep sea, use server/developer utility commands if they are available in the build.

Example of auxiliary commands for a local test or server with rights:

ent spawn assets/content/vehicles/boats/modular_boat.prefab ent spawn assets/content/vehicles/boats/rhib/rhib.prefab # Дополнительные команды зависят от билда и прав на сервере

Some builds support entering the deep sea zone through special points. If your server has a command, check the server description for it.

FAQ

When will the main Naval patch be released?
Expected for November 2025. Some functionality is already available on the stage branch to give the developers time to polish the build.
Is it worth preparing separate bases for Naval?
Yes. The new water meta will add farming routes, events, and risks. Plan ahead for water access points, a hangar/dock, fuel caches, and boat slots.
Do I need to purchase the Warhammer DLC to access the Naval content?
No. The DLC is a cosmetic addition. Naval is part of a free game update. A detailed review of the DLC is available here: prostoj.store .

If you're a server administrator testing a build, monitor log messages, plugin compatibility, and the load on coastal clusters. Players are advised to update clients, check their cache, and free up space for new assets.
