7 years of Rust: development history and update news
Today, Rust turns 7 years old! In December 2013, it was first released on Steam and has since made a lot of noise in the gaming community. During this time, the game has completely changed several times - from Legacy to Experimental, and now the current version continues to develop and receive updates every month, as well as participate in event activities. It is not surprising that Rust is not going to retire, because its statistics are still impressive.
The developers promise to share interesting numbers for 2020, which will help us better understand the success of the game. But despite all the achievements, the anniversary of the game was not celebrated as grandly as the previous one. The developers chose modest, elegant ways to celebrate Rust's birthday, banning more than 400 players from Facepunch servers for playing with cheaters. Alistair Beaver, the head of development for the game, assured the community that such bans will become more frequent in the future. But players will continue to be given opportunities to celebrate this holiday, including enjoying balloons on loot boxes and cake.
