Rust Development News: Backpacks, Vault Limitation, and Peaceful Scientist City Redesign

A little bit about the current work of the developers

:dotred1: Backpacks

Players can only use one backpack at a time, and the backpack inventory is separate from the player's inventory. If a player with a backpack dies, you will need to search the player's inventory and the backpack's inventory separately. Additionally, the only way to pick up a backpack on the ground is to hold E.

:dotred1: Shelter Limit 1

As mentioned in the dev blog earlier this month, players will soon be getting a cap on the number of Shelters they can place in the wild. This work has just moved into the development stage, and the default cap is set to 1.

:dotred1: Redesign of the Peaceful City of Scientists

Work on the RT update continues, with the City taking center stage. According to the commits, the new City Hall and helipad will be included in this redesign. No visuals yet, but we'll keep you posted.

:dotred1: Other things

- More experimental changes to industry - added the ability for industrial transfer to pause the transfer mid-tick and resume it on the next tick.

- Fixed spear model offset

- More work on updating the UI in the vending machines on the map.

- Player clothing is now rechecked for changes when clearing the demo. Fixed cases where clearing past clothing changes would result in the player not having the correct clothing model visually.

- Active work on the training island

- Now the dealer in blackjack can add when reaching "soft 17" (previously, when reaching 17, the dealer stopped the game)

- Active work on new explosions
