Connecting through the F1 console
- Update Rust on Steam. You need the PC version of Rust; Rust Console Edition uses separate servers.
- Open the game from your Steam library and wait for the main menu.
- Select a server from the connection block, copy the command, and open the console with the F1 key.
- Enter the command in its entirety, press Enter, and close the console. Wait for the map to load upon first entry.
What do IP, port, and short address mean
A regular address looks like 192.0.2.1:28015. The port after the colon is mandatory if specified by the administration. A short domain can use the server's DNS record: copy it exactly from the card, without https:// and without an invented port.
How to save a server to favorites
After successfully logging in, find the server in the game browser history and add it to favorites. If the list temporarily does not show the server, use the F1 command again.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to log in to the website to connect?
No website login is required to copy the command. You need Steam with Rust for the game itself.
The Steam button doesn't open Rust - what should I do?
Make sure that Steam is installed and running. If the browser does not pass the link to the application, use the F1 command from the same card.
How to play with a friend?
Send your friend the address of the same server. Check the command restriction rules before entering: a resource multiplier of x2 does not mean a limit of two players.
