Rust crashes when entering the server

Start by checking the Steam files and available RAM. If the crash occurs only on one map, try logging into another server and report the results to support.

Verification without reinstalling

  1. Restart your computer, close unnecessary programs, and finish updating Steam.
  2. Check the integrity of Rust files.
  3. Free up space on the system disk and the game disk. Leave the system managing the page file if you don't have your own verified setting.
  4. Restore launch options to default; temporarily disable third-party game overlays.
  5. Lower the texture quality and try logging into another server. Note at which stage the game crashes.

If the game is running but the FPS is low

Performance issues are different from crashes. Start by adjusting graphics settings and comparing CPU, GPU, and memory usage.
