Garry Newman Shares Rust's 2020 Successes
Garry Newman shared Rust's progress in 2020.
“Since our roster changes in 2019 (where everyone stopped messing around with their prototypes and moved on to working on Rust), the team has been able to have a lot of success this year.
This year we've added CCTV cameras and computer stations, reworked farming, night vision, an official companion app for Android and iOS, modular vehicles, and a bunch of balance changes.
DLC:
In December 2019, we released a DLC with musical instruments and it was a success, so we decided to continue and released a summer expansion, which was also a big success for us.
I think we've found the perfect balance between supporting the development of the game (we release around 15 free updates every year) and giving players something new to enjoy at the same time, so expect more of that next year.
PROMOTION:
Secret Lab has made a themed gaming chair that also comes with a free version of the game inside!
We also held our first Twitch Drops event last month. We didn't know what to expect, but with 180,000 drops given out, we consider it a success.
Let us know if you would like to collaborate with us in any way for other types of promotion, especially if you are Vin Diesel.
OTHER COOL NEWS:
Together with the community, we raised over $300,000 for charity through Charitable Rust, Trust in Rust, and Movember 2020.
CONSOLE VERSION:
The console port didn't come out in 2020 as we expected... but the good news is that we're 100% sure it will come out in 2021, 50% sure it will come out in the first half of 2021, and 25% sure it will come out in the first quarter of 2021.
The game is being developed by Double 11, so stay tuned for more news from them. (https://www.double11.com/2020/12/07/rust...)

• Rust sold 9,545,105 copies
