Close Rust, wait for up to 10 minutes, and then launch the game again from your Steam library. If the error persists, check the integrity of the files, then restore EAC following the Facepunch instructions.

Safe course of action
- Completely close Rust and wait for up to 10 minutes for the EAC authentication cache to update.
- Launch Rust through the Steam library so that the anti-cheat starts along with the game.
- In Steam, open Rust properties → Local files → Verify integrity of game files.
- If this did not help, open the official guide below and perform Easy Anti-Cheat restoration from the game folder.
- Keep the exact text of the message: EAC Banned, Client Integrity Violation, and Authentication Timeout are different errors.
The error is repeating.
Check if it occurs on all protected servers. Attach the verification result and the error time to the support ticket. There is no need to disable the anti-cheat to join a protected server.
